About City

             Osaka is in the kansai region of Japan. It is the second largest metropolitan area in Japan and among the largest in the world with over 19 million inhabitants. Osaka is in humid subtropical zone with 4 seasons. Winters are generally mild and January being the coldest month. Summers in Osaka are hot and humid while spring starts off mild and ends with hot and humid climate. Osaka is roughly divided into two areas Kita & Minami. The major business and retail hub in Osaka is the Osaka station city and large shopping arcades. Nakanoshima has prominent area of city’s skyscapers that are often featured in images of Osaka’s skyline. Local autonomy law formed a Osaka city council for the city’s local government. It is $341 billion GDP for the greater Osaka. Greater Osaka has good network of railway lines when compared to that of greater Tokyo. Tenjin Matsuri is the most famous festival celebrated in the month of July 24&25 by Osaka. The NMAO (National Museum of Art) in Osaka has a collection from post-war era. Next to the national museum of art is the Osaka science museum with a planetarium and an OMNIMAX theatre. 4 professional teams are hosted by Osaka Oxis buffaloes, Nippon professional baseball team and another baseball team. During the summer season koshien stadium is occupied by Annual National High School Baseball Championship games. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan in Osaka has 35,000 aquatic animals.
